Bases of Information Theory. Multimedia signals: text, voice, audio, image and video. Encoding without loss of multimedia signals. Huffman coding, arithmetic coding, LZW. Multimedia signal processing. Multimedia signal compression techniques. Extraction of multimedia signal characteristics. Classification and analysis of multimedia signals.
