Carlos Aragão praised the School's initiatives in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

Last Friday (11), Carlos Aragão, Director of Scientific and Technological Development at the Brazilian Studies and Projects Funding Agency (Finep), visited the School of Applied Mathematics at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV EMAp). During the visit, the Director of FGV EMAp, César Camacho, presented the structure and objectives of the School. Professor Yuri Saporito, coordinator of the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence course, was responsible for detailing the undergraduate courses offered, while professors Jorge Poco, Guilherme Tegoni Goedert and Diego Mesquita presented their research.
Carlos Aragão praised the School’s initiatives: “I was very impressed by what was presented by Professor Camacho and several researchers from FGV EMAp. Excellent research, training and extension work on topics of capital importance such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Mathematics Applied to several areas of current relevance, such as health, climate change, public safety, among others. A School that is worth knowing, visiting and having as a partner.”
Finep, a public company linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, works to promote science, technology and innovation in companies, universities and technological institutes. The visit strengthens the relationship between Finep and FGV EMAp, whose mission is to develop mathematics and its application in strategic areas.
