She has a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1987), a master's degree (1991), and a doctorate (1998) in Systems and Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She worked in teaching and research activities at LNCC until 2007. She was a full-time professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at PUC-Rio from 2007 to 2013, and then a part-time professor from 2017 to 2019. She was involved in research project coordination and expansion and construction projects at IMPA from 2014 to 2021. Since 2021, she has been engaged in teaching activities at the School of Applied Mathematics at FGV, in the undergraduate course of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
