Guilherme is an applied mathematician, physicist, and computational scientist, currently a Professor at the School of Applied Mathematics (FGV EMAp). He completed a triple Ph.D. through the Università degli Studi di Roma "Tor Vergata", RWTH Aachen University, and the Cyprus Institute, having received a Marie Curie fellowship. Previously, he earned a Master’s degree in Computational Mathematics and Modeling from IMPA, and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Brasília.
He works on the modeling and simulation of complex systems, focusing on applications in Epidemiology, Public Health, and Evolutionary Dynamics. He also works with HPC (High-Performance Computing), aiming to integrate advanced computing systems and methods into new scientific applications and high social impact projects. Additionally, he focuses on the integration of AI methods and Causal Inference in epidemiological surveillance processes and the evaluation of public health protocols.
